H&M at the Academy Awards?

When Helen Hunt was asked what she was wearing at the Oscars, she didn't have a typical answer. Instead of Chanel or Dior, Mrs. Hunt answered H&M. At first, people thought she was joking. However, she was entirely serious. The strapless navy gown was suspected to be advertising for H&M's coming red carpet line. Although the exact gown won't be available, the dress is a good idea of what kind of the line may include. The dress wasn't anything special, but certainly didn't look out of place on the red carpet. Simple, yet elegant, the silk fabric looked good on. However, this begs the question: Will we see more retail stores on the red carpet in the future?

NYFW Instagrams

One of the most interesting parts of NYFW is all the social media! Instagram is especially fun because you can actually see what the person is talking about! Here are some of my favorites:
They are literally snow-plowing Lincoln Center. #SorryNemo #mbfw #nyfw

Most Wanted: February

BCBG Fall 2013 Fashion Week Runway

Filled with lavishly plush coats and lots of leather, BCBG's NYFW runway was a very chic place to be. You could call this look luxe grunge, with the leather leg warmers and knit hats it does have a  tough feel about it. On the other hand though, there are the beautiful fuzzy knee length coats and artsy geometric prints.

This grunge leather and lavish elegance combo is already a trend on the Fashion Week runways. Kenneth Cole, Edun, and Timo Weiland all used lots of leather to offset posh pieces.
